Maine Roller Derby Presents 2024 Spread the Love Bout

Portland, Maine – January 29, 2024 – Maine Roller Derby (MRD) presents the 2024 Spread the Love bout on February 10th at Happy Wheels in Westbrook. MRD’s newest skaters took the track for their first public appearance last month and are back to bout again. The Ship Wreckers triumphed over the R.I.P. Tides last time and competitive spirits are high for this rematch.

“This is the last chance to see this year’s Fresh Muscle class strut their stuff on the track, as it is our last Home Teams bout until next fall.” Said Slammin’, MRD’s Head of New Recruits. “The Freshies have been so hard at work since July and our whole league is so excited to see how far they’ve come! If you’ve wanted to catch a roller derby bout this season, this is the one!”

MRD is proud to partner with the University of Southern Maine ASL Interpreting Program for the Spread the Love bout to provide ASL interpretation for this bout. Deaf and Hard of Hearing members of our community will receive complimentary admission.

In addition to the roller derby action, the event will offer a family-friendly atmosphere with food and beverage options, merchandise, and opportunities to meet the athletes. Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and families to enjoy an evening of excitement and entertainment. Join MRD for their afterparty for additional opportunities to connect.

Tickets for the Share the Love bout can be purchased online Friday, February 2nd at Noon on MRD’s website or at the door if the event is not sold out already. Prices are as follows:

    Hearing Adults (ages 13+): $12.00
    Deaf & HoH Adults: Free

    Children under 12: Free
