On Saturday, March 11th, Maine Roller Derby’s Port Authorities squared off against Green Mountain Roller Derby’s own Grade A Fancy, from Burlington, VT. Maine came out of the gate strong, starting the game with back to back power jams, and 44 points on the board after the first 3 jams! Green Mountain really settled into their defense, allowing their jammers to get lead status in jams 8, 9, and 10. Despite lead status, Maine’s defense held the jammers to 15 points across those 3 jams. Maine would continue to pull away from Green Mountain, sending out strong agile jammers, and soul crushing defensive walls. Maine Roller Derby took the win with a strong 237 to Green Mountain’s 139.
