Calamity Janes Control the Morristown Madams, 116-30

MRD’s Calamity Janes traveled to Morristown, New Jersey to take on the non-WFTDA Morristown Madams on Saturday, March 28, 2009.

Armed with three new teammates, Grim D. Mise, Shirley B. Slammin’ (both bouting for the first time) and Vexacious D (finally back from more than a year off for injury), the Janes earned a solid victory in their first bout since the fall.

The Janes have spent their time heavily training and preparing for a season of victory. With several new teammates, you’ll find the Janes are a very different team. Blockers Terror Byte, Vexacious D, Wrex Zilla and Fist City Kitty played heavy defense while Jenni-Vicious and Trouble & Strife worked on offense that allowed jammers Grim D. Mise, Shirley B. Slammin’ and The Zipper to skim through the pack and earn numerous grand slam points.

The Madams’ heavy hitters were often in place to throw our jammers to the floor, however those resilient new jammers were up in a flash to earn more points or strategically call off the jam. Grim D. Mise, awarded MVP, especially shone with grand slam after grand slam and not one trip to the penalty box.

The Janes plan to continue their stellar teamwork and determination throughout the next two bouts of the season, occurring at the Portland Expo on Saturday, April 11 (vs Northeast Ohio Rock’n’Roller Girls) and Saturday, May 2 (vs Jersey Shore Roller Girls).

Roster for March 28 included Wrex Zilla (captain), Fist City Kitty (co-captain), Terror Byte, Vexacious D, Mary Jane Pain Train, The Rehabiliskater, Trouble & Strife, Jenni-Vicious, Chantel Kill n Sell, A-Block, The Zipper, Grim D. Mise and Shirley B. Slammin’.
