Calamity Janes 156, ROC City 33
The Calamity Janes earned a hefty win against ROC City Roller Derby’s All-star team on September 26, 2009 at the Portland Expo.
The Janes set the tone early by holding ROC City to one point throughout 12 jams as they racked up 67 of their own. Toward the end of the first period, ROC City was on to the Janes’s strategy and answered back with a huge defensive effort to hold the Janes for the last three jams at 90 points.
In the second period ROC City chipped away at the score, nickel-and-diming jams for a point or two as the Janes continued to earn lead jammer status and grand slam their way to a victory.
MVP awards were given to Resident Eva of ROC City and Dump Truck (Punchy O’Guts) of the Janes.
