Description

Isn’t it a little late to start playing roller derby (i.e. Aren’t you too old)?

No. I’m only too old if I think I’m too old. If there’s something you want to do, then ignore your self-doubt and do it. You’ll never know if can or cannot if you don’t at least try. Go ahead, you may surprise yourself. (I know I have.)

What derby position(s) do you play?

Whatever Coach asks me to play (they’re all fun)

League position(s) held? (past and/or present)

Bout Production Committee

Favorite Derby Accomplishment(s) / Proudest Moment?

Being voted MVP-Jammer at the Coming Out Bout

When did you join MRD?

Fresh Muscle Class of 2015

What I do off-skates? (hobbies, job, etc)

Day Job: Laboratory Certification for the State; Instructor for Derby Lite. Off skates: Love outdoor adventures with my family, especially if they include white water rafting and camping. Love all things outdoors, but also love the performing arts. Dabble in a little of everything from bellydance to bluegrass. Life is short. Try it all.

Favorite post-practice snack?

Apples and almonds on the ride home. Beer, sardines and Wasa crackers once I get there.

Favorite trick on skates

Getting hit and not losing my spot.

Most Likely to ___________.

Give a motivational speech (to both teams).

My derby name was almost ________.

Laps O’Reason

What is your sports/skating background?

Never played a team sport, but rollerskated and took horsebackriding lessons as a kid. Spent most of my adult years avoiding excersise, until I hit 40. Then everything changed.

Do you have a pre-bout ritual?

Pace, jump up-and-down like a kid a Christmas, pee. Repeat

If you had your own theme song, what would it be?

What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)

What MRD team do you play on?

R.I.P. Tides
